Become a Foster.
Fosters are why we can save more. Over 1,000 dogs and counting.
Thank you for considering becoming a foster with Saving Paws Rescue Arizona. Without fosters, we wouldn’t be able to save nearly as many dogs — to date, more than 1,000. We cover all the costs; you provide the home, patience, and love.
Saving Paws is 100% volunteer — applications take up to 7 days to review. Thank you for your patience.

Common Questions
FAQs about fostering
What’s the difference between traditional foster and Love For Life foster?
Traditional fostering is when you take in a puppy or adult dog and provide a safe landing until they’re adopted to their forever home. Fosters often know the dogs best and help guide the adoption match. Length can be short-term or long-term depending on the dog.
Love For Life is a Saving Paws program for long-timers who need permanent loving homes — dogs often considered unadoptable due to age, health, or behavior. They stay in loving foster homes (sometimes forever) while rehabilitation continues. Learn more on our Love For Life Program page.
Do I have to live in the Phoenix area?
Nope. We have fosters all over Arizona. As long as you’re willing to bring the dog to meet-and-greets and vet visits, we can make it work. Love For Life fosters may need to be closer depending on the dog’s medical needs.
How much does it cost to foster?
Nothing. We provide food, medications, vet visits, and common supplies like crates, beds, and exercise pens.
What kind of support do fosters get?
We’re always available by phone for questions or concerns. You’ll also be invited into a private Facebook group for fosters, adopters, volunteers, and supporters — a great place to ask questions or share photo updates (we love those).
What if I have to travel while fostering?
Not a problem. We’ll find another foster to watch your dog, or take them back at the sanctuary until you return. Let us know as early as possible so we can plan.
